We love the message behind this video, which was sponsored by MARO (Michigan Association of Rehabilitation Organizations). Like Rauch, MARO recognizes the trend in current public policy emphasizing competitive integrated employment - jobs in the community, at or above minimum wage, and interacting with others without disabilities - as the ultimate priority outcome for all job seekers. Also like Rauch, they agree that a comprehensive array of employment services should be part of a menu of options, and people with disabilities in our community should be able to access these options based on each individual's desires, needs, goals, and informed choice. Rauch believes these options should also include opportunities to learn job skills and expectations at facility-based employment such as Rauch Industries.
